Relativism and Human Rights

What is the relationship between cultural relativism and moral relativism?  Can a logical individual maintain a stance as a moral or cultural relativist and still support Universal Human Rights?  Is it logically consistent?  Is there a solution, or are the two ideas bound for conflict?

THESIS:  In contemporary Western society, the financial institution, comprised of multinational corporations and investment banks, has become the dominant institution of the age.  This institution commands authority that transcends national borders and often trumps sovereign governments while bending the media’s message.  Its influence manages to guide the daily actions of individuals living within its grasp.  In these ways, modern financial institutions resemble the hegemony and influence of the institution of the Catholic Church in pre-reformationEurope.
